With the 2024 Met Gala approaching, what better time to talk outfits? This year's Met Gala theme is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," and the dress code is "The Garden of Time." How will designers and celebrities receive this? Will they go the archival route with old pieces or completely new looks inspired by "Reawakening fashion"? Only time will tell. In this post, I will be styling and predicting celebrity outfits for this year's Met Gala.
Zendaya

Although there are billions of fake invites and guest lists out there about who will be going to the Met Gala, one thing is for sure: Zendaya will be going. Zendaya, along with JLo, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, are the Met Gala 2024 co-chairs, which confirms that they will all be there.

Over the years, Zendaya has graced the Met Gala with her beautiful and classy outfits; Zendaya repeatedly steps onto the red carpet with one fantastic outfit after the next. I think Zendaya should wear a dress inspired by this show-closing gown from the Christian Dior 2010 runway. This dress fully embodies the dress code of the Met Gala this year, from the flower detailing on the bodice to the beautiful skirt that heavily reminds me of the Venus and Junon dresses featured in the new Met exhibition. I can't be the only one who would adore to see Zendaya walking up the met steps in a dress like this. Zendaya is practically made for this dress, and it helps her fully represent the theme and dress code, which is essential because of her authority as co-chair.
2. Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain is our generation's it girl. She has now attended three Met Galas, making this year her fourth. For the past couple of years, she has also been Vogue's video host, interviewing celebrities after her initial walk on the steps. What should we expect from Emma this year?

I can see Emma in a look inspired by greenery and moss; this is a very fitting type of look to go with Emma's style but elevated and elegant for the Met. Dress number 1 of the three was my ultimate inspiration for Emma; the fabric is beautiful with the right shape and sparkle. Dress number one was displayed at Chanel's spring couture show in 1997. The other two dresses are Alberta Ferretti and Julien Macdonald. Emma can make a statement with anything she wears, and doing a take on greenery, and not flowers will make her stand out from the crowd without wearing a vast statement dress.
3. Harry Styles

It looks like Harry Styles will not be heading back to the Met Gala this year but Harry is known for adventurous style and not just wearing a suit and tie to events like the Met.

Out of all the people to wear this beautiful Balmain jacket from their spring summer 2023 ready-to-wear collection, it's Harry Styles (then maybe Troye Sivan.) Going into this, I thought it would have to be archival to get anywhere close to fitting the dress code with menswear, but this jacket just from last year is on the money. The print/design reminds me of watercolour paintings, which I think fits quite well into the theme of this year. The fitted jacket with the high/turtle neck is cool and elevated. Instead of the pants that go with this I think Harry should go for more fitted pants with a bit of a flare at the bottom.
4. Sydney Sweeny

Sydney Sweeny made a splash earlier in the year by starring in the new popular movie Anyone but You with Glenn Powell. Hopefully, Sydney will attend the Met this year because she knocked it out of the park last year.

Sydney Sweeny reminds me of a real sleeping beauty, so I knew this was for her when I heard the theme (sleeping beauties reawakening fashion). This dress walked the runway in 1997 at Christian Dior's haute couture show. Pink is such a fitting colour for Sydney, and I think she would stand out in this stunning gown.
5. Blake Lively

Blake has consistently worn a statement gown at the Met Gala in the past couple of years, including her 2022 look that made a HUGE splash. Blake can pull off anything, so it's a matter of time to see what she can bring to the met this year.

This year I think Blake should go to the Met Gala in a dress inspired by this beautiful gown by Christian Lacroix. This dress fully emodies the theme this year. The colour, the shape, and the detail all come together to make the dress practicly created for the theme and dress code. The piece that goes down the back of the shoulder on the dress is my personal favourite part because it adds so much more individuality and uniqueness.
6. Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter has been increasingly popular this past year. From opening for Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" to headlining Coachella, she has done it all.

Personally, I don't know Sabrina's personal style or if she would wear this, but I think this Theirry Mugler spring-summer 1996 jumpsuit would fit her so well. These colours would match her beautiful blonde hair and skin tone perfectly. The 3D element on this jumpsuit is so beautiful, and the jumpsuit alone is gorgeous, but it wouldn't look nearly as amazing as it does without the jacket and gloves.
7. Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy is not only a brilliant actor but also an elegant and classy person. She always looks effortlessly put together and beautiful.

How amazing would Anya look in this stunning dress from Jean Paul Guatier's 2002 spring-summer show? The sheer layered fabric creates a whimsical look, the flowers are placed beautifully within the fabric, and the shape of the dress would compliment Anya's body so well. If Anya were to do this look or something like it, I think she should definitely include a hairpiece inspired by the one in the photo.
8. Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey blessed the Met Gala stairs last year with her beautiful look. She became more popular last year after her outstanding job playing Ariel in the live-action Little Mermaid. Halle Bailey has always been a star and always walks onto the red carpet in a beautiful, stylish piece.

Halle bailey needs to wear something like this beautiful dress is from Givenchy's spring 2003 couture show. Not only is the detailing on the bodice stunning, but the fact that it's carried throughout the dress only makes it 10x better. This dress is super interesting to look at and would look beyond gorgeous on Halle.
The Met Gala is in just a few more days, and I can't wait to see what these celebrities and designers have in store for this year!
